About Hank, his live piano music, lessons and CDs...
Hank grew up in Wilmette, IL, a north shore suburb of Chicago where he studied
jazz piano with master teacher Alan Swain throughout his development years. At
New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL, Hank became the No. 1 All-State Jazz Pianist
for two consecutive years. He then won a full scholarship to DePaul University
School of Music, focusing on both classical and jazz music, and graduated with
a Bachelors of Music Degree in Jazz Studies. Since the age of 15, he worked as
a full-time piano player in Chicago in restaurants, country clubs, and hotels
as well as with wedding bands, jazz groups, and blues bands. This Chicago experience forged a dynamic piano style.
At age 27, he ventured away to play piano aboard
cruise ships year-round and traveled world-wide. For 8 fun years, he played alongside
talented musicians from all over the United States and other countries. As bandmaster for Princess Cruises, Hank directed the showband on many of their
ships, including the Pacific Princess, the original "Love Boat" of the hit television
series. Hank and his wife Karen live in New Milford, CT. Hank is the resident
piano player at J.D. Tucker's restaurant in Washington Depot, Thursday evenings
and Sunday brunches. He plays live music for private parties, senior centers
and other events. He also offers piano and guitar lessons to lucky students in
Litchfield and New Milford. To listen to his music live, click here, or to enjoy
